Autumn travels with tea

Shan Lin Xi Oolong plantation

In summer, we travel with our feet. In autumn, we travel with tea!

Shorter days distill their melancholy. We feel tired, exhausted. The remedy is sleep and tea. (Preferably in that order, because people sensitive to caffeine won't be able to sleep if they drink tea just before sleep.)

Spring 2025 high mountain Oolong from Shan Lin Xi
In the morning, a Shan Lin Xi Oolong brewed at home makes awakens my senses and takes my mind on a trip to the mountains. My mother made this quilt that adorned a wall of my parents' house in France. Now that the house has been sold, as a twist of fate, these little houses have come to my home in Taiwan!

This high mountain Qingxin Oolong seems to have become finer, lighter since I last tasted it. Its freshness feels more direct and intense, but also smoother. It starts with a scent of cotton candy and explodes in delicate spring flowers. These scents capture the terroir so well that my mind instantly travels back to the Oolong plantation surrounded by a thick bamboo forest.

It's a pleasant trip for my mind while I'm at home. And it's a pleasure for the body to taste spring. A breeze of fresh air!
